Greenfield, Mass. Ballot Question 4 has not yet passed, but already, House Speaker Robert DeLeo wants to increase the taxes associated with marijuana.

The Winthrop Democrat, who opposes Question 4, identified issues that could be revisited by lawmakers if the question passes on November 8. The proposed law would permit the possession, use, distribution, and cultivation of marijuana for those who are 21 or older.

Republican Governor Charlie Baker told 22News that he also opposes Question 4.

Even folks who support the question say that they have real issues with the way its written, and I dont support it and Im working pretty hard to make sure it fails, because I dont thinks its good for the Commonwealth, Baker said.

Senate President Stan Rosenberg (D-Amherst), who is in support of the ballot question, also indicated a willingness to make changes to the law, if it passes.
